Now that our sporty-car shoot out is over, you’d think its time to return back to the hum-drum world of boring compacts and economy cars, but you’re wrong. This week we have two serious performance cars and two all-wheel drive, six-cylinder cars ready to tackle a cut-throat segment.

2015-subaru-legacy 2015 Subaru Legacy 3.6R: Mike Schlee, Road Test Editor – “This week I am in the 2015 Subaru Legacy 3.6R sedan. Much improved over the 2014 model, we are pitting this six-cylinder all-wheel drive family sedan in a comparison test against the only other vehicle available with both of those features; the 2015 Chrysler 200S AWD.”

Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray – “I’ll also be off to General Motors Milford proving grounds in Michigan to test out the all-new eight-speed automatic transmission equipped in the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Is this conventional automatic transmission as quick and responsive as Chevy claims, rivalling the best dual-clutch trannys on the market?” Tweet at Mike or follow him on Twitter to get all the details on these two exciting cars.

bmw-m3-m4-top-10-5 2015 BMW M4: Colum Wood, Editor-in-Chief – “The return of the inline-six M3! Except it’s turbocharged. And it’s not called the M3. Yes, the new BMW M4 is what I’m driving this week. I haven’t even picked it up yet, so I’m not even sure what color it will be. Maybe, just maybe, it’s that hideous gold like all the press photos. I sure hope so. I hated the last M3, in concept. Then I drove it and fell in love. I’m not all that excited about this one, but I suspect it’ll make me a fanboy. Follow my tweets and find out for yourself.”

2013-Mercedes-Benz-ML-550-30-main_rdax_646x396 2014 Mercedes-Benz ML350: Craig Cole, Associate Editor – “Could the Mercedes-Benz ML350 BlueTEC be the perfect road-trip vehicle? With a sumptuous cabin, economical diesel engine and plenty of cargo space it should be able to gobble up miles with the voraciousness of Cookie Monster in a Pepperidge Farm outlet store. I’ll be extensively evaluating this luxury utility all next week as I vacation in northern Michigan. Hopefully the seats are more comfortable than the ones in the 2015 C-Class…” Interested in bothering Craig during his vacation? Feel free to Tweet him – Or you just follow his Twitter Account.

2015 Chrysler 200S 2015 Chrysler 200S AWD: Sami Haj-Assaad, Features Editor – “Is Chrysler’s comeback complete? I’m testing out the new 200S AWD to see how the American automaker has improved its once dismal entry in the mid-sized sedan marketplace. With its segment exclusive nine-speed automatic, the 200S will face off against the only other car in its segment with AWD and a six-cylinder engine: the Subaru Legacy 3.6R. Keep you eyes glued to Twitter to see which car comes out on top and impresses us the most.” Think the Chrysler 200S has what it takes to knock off the Subaru? Tweet at Sami to share your questions about these two.

2014-mitsubishi-lancer-gt2014 Mitsubishi Lancer: Stephen Elmer, News Editor – “Names like Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla come to mind when you think of compact cars, but what about the Mitsubishi Lancer? This often forgotten product only seems to gain attention when kitted out with EVO performance enhancements, but what about the base model? I’ll be in a Lancer all week, trying to determine if this is the most underrated product of the segement, or if it truly deserves its lackluster reputation.” To find out more about the Lancer, watch Stephen’s Twitter feed.
